The All Tapioca Starch and Sago Manufacturers Association – Mallur (ATSSMA) represents tapioca starch and sago manufacturers while engaging constructively with farmers, government, institutions, buyers and researchers. The Association works to strengthen industry coordination, encourage responsible manufacturing, improve sector knowledge and expand awareness of tapioca-based foods and industrial applications.

Salem Sago received Geographical Indication registration in March 2023, recognising its connection with the region’s established sago ecosystem. GI identification and use are governed by the registration and authorised-user framework.
